AMSOIL Dual-Gard™ Bypass Filter System
The AMSOIL Dual-Gard Remote Bypass System provides superior filtration performance and is ideal for engines with sump capacities greater than 20 quarts. The DUAL-GARD system links two AMSOIL Bypass filters together on one mount. This system connects to the engine through a pressurized oil port. System includes mount, mounting hardware, hose and hose fittings. Note: The EaBP bypass oil filters are sold separately. The EaBP120 will not work with this system. This high performance unit consists of two (2) AMSOIL EaBP Absolute Efficiency Bypass Filters mounted on an A380 aluminum alloy mounting block. AMSOIL EaBP Bypass Filters have an efficiency of 98.7 percent (Beta 75) at TWO microns, which means absolute efficiency at 2 microns. The AMSOIL Dual-Gard™ Bypass Oil Filtration System treats oil to ultrafine filtration, which increases engine and oil life and enhances engine performance for heavy duty diesel engines. Wear tests have shown particles of contamination in the sub-micron to 20 micron range are most harmful to rings and bearings. These filters remove 39% of soot contaminants less than one micron, virtually all contaminants 2 microns and larger, and are considered SRD’s (soot removal devices). The Ea Bypass Oil Filter (EaBP) provides the best possible filtration protection against wear and oil degradation. Working in conjunction with the engine’s full-flow oil filter, the AMSOIL Ea Bypass Filter operates by filtering oil on a “partial-flow” basis. It draws approximately 10 percent of the oil pump’s capacity at any one time and traps the extremely small, wear-causing contaminants that full-flow filters can’t remove. The AMSOIL Ea Bypass Filter typically filters all the oil in the system several times an hour, so the engine continuously receives analytically clean oil.
AMSOIL EaBP Filters have an efficiency of 98.7 percent at two microns. At normal operating RPMs the EaBP Filter will filter all of the oil in a typical five quart sump in less than 10 minutes.
The superior construction of AMSOIL EaBP Filters provides better sealing and increased longevity along with superior corrosion resistance. AMSOIL EaBP Filters have a marine powder coated exterior; and their zinc-dichromate base plates increase rust protection. EaBP Filters have a nitrile HNBR gasket and an orange silicone anti-drain valve. The two stage pleated and layered cellulose/full synthetic media has an efficiency rating of 98.7 percent at two microns.
AMSOIL Bypass Filters can be utilized over an extended period of mileage, hours or years as outlined in the Chart below. Extended oil drain intervals should always be accompanied by an oil analysis program.
Increased Oil Capacity
The increased fluid system capacity and filtration life provides improved oil cooling and ensures that equipment constantly runs on clean oil. Engine efficiency is increased, providing extended engine life.
AMSOIL has designed a high-efficiency bypass filter element that is also a soot removal device. AMSOIL Ea Bypass Filters use a synthetic/cellulose sandwiched media. The inner layer of the element is composed of a highly efficient cellulose media covered with a full synthetic media outer layer. These filters remove 39 percent of soot contaminants less than one micron. Soot removal efficiency increases approximately 10 to 14 percent when the EaBP Filter is used in conjunction with a standard full-flow filter.
